In mid-March two Finnish students, Topi Valli and Samuel Hiljanen came from Ulvila, Finland, to take a one-month internship in Békéscsaba with the help of Erasmus + programme. Their sending school, Satakunnan kouluskuntayhtymä is one of the oldest foreign partner institutions of Békéscsaba Center of Vocational Training Trefort Ágoston Vocational-grammar, Vocational-secondary School and Dormitory, with several successful joint projects. This time, the Trefort, as the host school, took part in organizing the programme in Békéscsaba, tutoring the students, and following the practice.
The students said they heard about the practical possibility from Janika Reunanen, teacher and international project coordinator at their school, and since they have been in several countries, they started out on this adventure. As an experienced traveller, they did not make any special preparations for the trip, but they received English language training in the school and gathered information from Békéscsaba via the Internet.
At the practical place, they had the opportunity to get acquainted with the materials, technologies and methods used at the host company. Young were primarily involved in masonry work during the five weeks. Even though they enjoyed the working days, they waited for weekends when they could explore the area with bicycles borrowed from the host school and enjoyed the pleasant spring weather.
